My first car was a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda – Really nice classic Formula S – When I traded it off it had about 75,000 miles and no problems with the engine or transmission. I wish I still had it.
After a series of imports, an AMC Pacer, and more imports, we bought a 1981 Dodge Aries. We traded it off when it reached 144,000 miles. The transmission lasted great, but the engine left a lot to be desired. It was running on one and a half cylinders. I think the engine was made by Mitsubishi.
We replaced the Aries with a 1990 Chevrolet APV (All Plastic Vehicle) that lasted 135,000 miles until it finally died.
Our current vehicles include a 2002 Ford Windstar which is really nice, and is comfortable for long trips.
My car is a 1995 Dodge Neon which just achieved over 100,000 miles. The only problem it has had was a water pump that broke and caused $800 worth of damage. It is still running strong.
Anyway, I think the fit and finish of the Chrysler products is a lot better than the comparable Fords and Chevies. They also look a lot cooler!
